Mission Statement
The mission of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is to provide the highest quality criminal investigative support to the victim of a crime by conducting timely and thorough criminal investigations using advanced investigative techniques and forensic equipment.
Functions
The Criminal Investigation Division, commonly known as CID, primarily investigate felony-level crime and provide criminal investigative support to the Patrol Division. CID also provides criminal intelligence and forensic investigative support for the Patrol Division. CID works closely with other local, state, federal, and military law enforcement agencies to investigate and counter the most serious crimes.
Detectives receive specialized training in a variety of investigative techniques and disciplines, including general and advanced criminal investigations, sex crimes investigations, child abuse investigations, death scene investigation, photography, interview and interrogation, crime scene investigation, collection of physical evidence and cell phone and computer forensics.
Contacting CID
If you are the victim of a crime, you must make an initial report with our Patrol Division. This can be done in person at the Russellville Police Department or by calling our Dispatch center at 479-968-0911. After making the initial report and if your case meets the criteria for assignment, it may be a few days before you are contacted by a Detective.
Detectives are on-call 24 hours a day and work varying schedules of the day and evening. CID can be contacted during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, by calling 479-968-3232.
