Russellville Art Project

The Russellville Art Project aims to showcase the diverse artistic talents of our residents by displaying their artwork throughout the city. This initiative encourages community engagement, creativity, and cultural expression. Please note that all rights to the submitted images will be null, and no monetary compensation will be provided to chosen applicants.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Eligibility:

    • Open to all artists, regardless of age, skill level, or artistic background.

    • Each artist may submit up to three pieces of artwork.

  • Artwork Specifications:

    • All visual art mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, abstract, digital art, and any other visual forms of creative expression. However, for the purpose of public display, all selected artworks will be presented in the form of print. 

    • All art should be suitable for public display and adhere to safety guidelines. 
    • We encourage artists to create works that reflect the essence of our city. Submissions should draw inspiration from various aspects, including but not limited to:

      • Historical landmarks and events that have shaped the city's identity.

      • Cultural diversity, traditions, and customs that contribute to the city's vibrant tapestry.

      • Portraits or representations of famous residents who have significantly impacted the community.

      • Unique features, landscapes, or symbols that define the character of our city.

    • Artworks that capture the spirit, history, and diversity of our city are highly encouraged. This theme aims to create a visual narrative that resonates with both residents and visitors, fostering a sense of pride and connection to our shared identity.

  • Submission Process:

    • Submissions should be submitted via online form here.

    • Include the artist's name, contact information, a brief artist statement and interpretation (100 words maximum) with each submission.

    • High-resolution images are required for chosen artwork and must be downloaded via digital form located on the city website, here.

    • Artwork should have capability to submit a high resolution version at maximum 5184 px X 2088 px @ 300 dpi or Vector and minimum 3528 px X 1854 px @ 300 dpi or Vector.
  • Submission Deadline:

    • The deadline for submissions is February 15 by 9am to be considered for the first round of the project. All submissions received after this deadline will be considered for future projects.

  • Selection Process:

    • A panel of community representatives will review submissions.

    • Chosen applicants will be notified via email and will be required to submit a HIGH RESOLUTION image at this time.

  • Display Locations:

    • Selected artworks will be displayed at various public locations throughout the city, including but not limited to the downtown area, parks, curbside, billboards, murals, and municipal buildings.

    • Specific locations will be determined by the organizing committee.

  • Duration of Display:

    • The exhibition will be displayed until weather conditions or unforeseen damage necessitates the removal of the artworks. 

  • Rights and Compensation:

    • By submitting their artwork, the artist acknowledges and agrees to relinquish all rights to the art. The Russellville Art Project retains no exclusive rights to the submitted images, and the artist understands that their contribution becomes part of the public display.

    • No monetary compensation will be provided to chosen applicants.

  • Public Engagement:

    • Information about the artists and their works will be shared through Russellville Advertising and Promotion Commission as they choose. 

  • Documentation:

    • The Russellville Art Project may document the exhibition for promotional purposes.
