School Resource Officer

School Resource Office (SRO)

The School Resource Officer (SRO) program is a partnership between the Russellville Police Department and the Russellville School District. SRO's are full time, Russellville officers assigned to schools within the Russellville School District.

SRO Responsibilities

 The primary purpose of the SRO program is the reduction and prevention of crime committed by juveniles and young adults. The program goals are:

  • Reduction of criminal offenses committed by juveniles and young adults
  • Establish rapport with students
  • Establish rapport with parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and other adults
  • Present a positive role image for students and adults
  • Provide safety for students, faculty, staff, and all persons involved with the school district
